Title: synthesis of omeprazol, a proton pump inhibitor.
Post by: Fischkiller on October 25, 2006, 09:24:36 PM
I know ive already posted this but no ones answered yet and I need it really, really soon. Im searching for the synthesis of omeprazol, a proton pump inhibitor. Omeprazol is a 5-methoxy-2-[(4-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-pyridin-2-yl)methylsulfinyl]-3H-benzimidazole and you can find a picture of its structure here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omeprazole. If anyone knows something about its synthesis or has got an idea, please answer. Thx

Try checking out the following J. Med. Chem. article:

Kuhler et al., J. Med. Chem. 1995, vol 38(25), 4906.

Hope that helps.
