Title: polyether synthesis
Post by: Phalcone42 on December 22, 2021, 12:17:06 PM
Hi, I'm looking to make a hydrogel at home that I can use for gel growth crystallization later.

I'm trying to have some fun with it by making a crosslinked polyether using PEG 3350, sugar as a poly-ol crosslinker, and phosphoric acid (acid catalyst). I picked these since I happen to have them sitting around (mirilax, granulated sugar, and 85% phosphoric acid from a different project). I don't have any practical experience with ether synthesis. What reaction conditions should I have for this?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

I think you need to do a literature search, Scifinder, Reaxys.
