Title: How do I know if a bond is Covalent or Ionic?
Post by: TungstenCube on December 24, 2021, 08:43:55 AM
How do I know if a bond is Covalent or Ionic without checking electronegativity or the periodic table? All is given to me on the test is the name or the symbol of the compound. This may be too easy but my chemistry book says nothing and is in a different language. Thanks in advance.

Check bonding between metal and non metallic, and non metal with other non metal.
Ravely elements from 1st. to 3rd. Group with them from 4th. to 7th. are ionic.
