Title: Need help with my brother’s chemistry lab questions
Post by: sdhruvv on December 30, 2021, 01:24:13 AM
1. Suggest a source of error that would result in:
a) a value of x that is too high compared to the actual value
b) a value of x that is too low compared to the actual value

2. Calculate the % composition of the hydrated form of copper (II) sulfate. That is, the percentage by
mass of EACH ELEMENT PRESENT. Show your work.

Analysis:
1. Determine the percent by mass of water in your sample of hydrated copper (II) sulfate. Show your calculations clearly.

2. Determine the actual molecular formula of CuSO4xH2O based on the data you collected. Show your
work

3. How would you expect the percent by mass of water in your sample of hydrated copper (II) sulfate to compare with the percent by mass of other groups doing the experiment who used different starting masses? Explain your answer,

It's usually better to work with the person who has the questions directly, rather than via Chinese whispers. That being said - what has been tried? Are the questions related - does x have any meaning in the copper sulfate questions?
