Title: pH of combined chemicals
Post by: Jricer3 on January 21, 2022, 11:31:12 PM
I’m struggling figuring out how the water in this affects the pH levels. Can someone please explain the effects. Also what would be the expected total pH?

KMnO₄ 114 grams +
NaOH 360 grams +
H2O 1 gallon

pH is a property of water solution, no water - no pH.

What do you know about substances being dissolved? How do they typically change pH of the solution? How do you quantify their effect?
