Title: How can I make cis-cyclohexane-diol by cyclohexanol?

Hi. I enjoy doing organic chemistry exercises but lately I've been trying to figure out the answer of this one. Can anybody help me?

I suggest you eliminate the alcohol and make cis-dihydroxylation of the cyclohexene with OsO4.

It is often profitable to think backward from the product one step at a time.  The formal name for this is retrosynthetic analysis.
