Title: Synthesis assistance starting from acetanilide
Post by: rika8118 on February 09, 2022, 11:25:25 PM
Hello all!
I am an undergrad chem major currently in my second semester of O-Chem!
For lab this semester we are tasked with creating a 4-step synthesis from an assigned starting material. I was given acetanilide.
I came up with the attached synthesis, however, it is not 4 steps, since I forgot that I could not isolate the diazonium salt.
I welcome all ideas and suggestions as to if I should add another step to this synthesis (like doing something with the unreacted OH on the para red) or come up with a different synthesis with acetanilide!
Thanks for reading!
