Title: Can a disproportionation reaction do electrical work?

Hi all, I think the title says it all.     I would think no, but happy to be corrected.

What about the lead accumulator used in cars. Pb4+  and Pb gives Pb2+ = discharging .Opposit Charging

Thanks Hunter2, a comproportionation reaction like the lead-acid battery can of course do work but the disproportionation ('reverse') reaction in that case is non-spontaneous.
