Title: Heating round flask with heating plate?

I have different sizes of round flasks that I want to heat. Can I use one heating plate for all? Or do I need to buy heating mantle for each in appropriate size?

How can I prevent that the heating plate will burn the bottom, or will that not happen?

In this case you have to use a pot with heating silicon oil or if you below 100 ° C use water. Dont put the glass flask directly on the plate!!!

I was under the impression that a lot of people just put the flask on the heating plate, is that impression correct?

No, people don't; do that. Not the least because it will do a really crappy job of heating it up. It also increases chance of breaking due to thermal shock or just plunking it down too hard.

You can also use a sand bath.
