Title: Help With Isolating Potassium
Post by: tjkool202 on April 03, 2004, 01:43:01 AM
I have acquired KOH chips and I have been trying to isolate the potassium through electrolysis.  Once I melted the KOH and started the process, the liquid started to turn blue.  Was that potassium forming?

      Thanks

Try switching your electrodes.

KOH flakes? That's an expensive way to do it, much cheaper to use pellets I would imagine.
