Title: colorimetry

would I be able to make a simple colorimetry apparatus that works just using a solar panel,a light and a couple of other parts.

chemicalLindsay,

Basically it is work and the basic components: light source (usually a 9~12V tungsten lamp), a glass cell (a square small glass bottle may be OK), a series of color glass filter, a detector ( photoelectric cell) and a meter (ammeter or voltmeter).
Is the solar panel can provide enough power to the tungsten lamp?

Your not going to be able to get the desired wattage from a solar cell.

oh well.I geuss there goes that option.I wonder if they could do a sort of colorimetry spectrophy like AES and determine the chemical composition of a liquid.
