Title: Estimation of labour requirement for new offshore facility
Post by: ken90000 on October 31, 2006, 03:18:42 AM
Have any of you come accross any quantitative method for estimation of labour requirement for offshore facility?

I've heard of a method called "LUND" method established by Shell International (SIPM). Unfortunately, I have problem to get a copy of the original reference:

Guidelines for Appropriate Manning Levels for New Offshore Installations, SLIM Volume III,
SIPM Report EP 88-2403, December 1988.

I need only section 3.7.2 and Figure 5a of the above reference. Can anyone help me or recommend me other method?

Thanks. Hope to get your reply soonest.

Hello ken90000,

Unfortunately, I do not know of a publically-available estimation of labour requirements for offshore facilities.  Most engineering companies have some form of estimation, but all are highly proprietary, and are typically built in-house.

I wish that I could help further.

Sincerely,

Eugene
