I really can not think of any reasons for changes in extracting iodine over many years. cud u help me plz?

what are the changes that have taken place all this years? What are the reasons behind these changes? Is there common ground among the various reasons?

What methods are used to extract chlorine? i've looked everywhere 4 a method, cud u plz help me?!

i believe the driving force for change over many industrial processes has been:
1. availability of raw materials
2. economics (lower operational cost, cheaper equipment & raw material)
2. safety (less hazardous process, safer operating conditions)
3. environmental concern (no toxic byproduct, or reduced toxic discharge)
4. technology (faster process, use cheaper catalyst)
