How do you calculate Retention Distance if you are given time? So far all I know is that you can find retention time experimentally, and that the plate height is H = L/N. Can Distance = L in this equation? If so, N = 5.55(retention time)^2 / width(1/2) ^2. I still dont understand how to calculate distance from retention time though... Thank you!

Retention distance / total eluent distance = retention time / total experiment time.
