Hello,

I need some help. I work in aquatic industry and we ship all around the world. As we handle tropical marine fish our main goal in shippment is to provide a stable temperature in the carton box. We use hot water in bags with all the fish bags, to provide a heat source. But i was thinking is there any liquid, Gel or another form that manage to provide heat for a long time ? 24-48 hours.

As long as we are talking just about storing heat water has one of the the highest specific heats. IIRC you may think about MgSO₄.10H₂O as well due to the latent heat of crystallization. Look for the systems used to store thermal energy in solar houses.

For that sort of period I'd suggest optimizing your insulation.  What's preventing you from using some sort of heating system, like electricity?

Hello,

 My problem using electricity is because of it's high costs (every box that we dispatched would have to have a eletric system) and the risk of a bag to release water might damage the system).

Hmm thank you both, i will try to look up about the systems used. But i think they store energy in battery type system. Guessing here. Hmm MgSO₄10H₂0 seems a bit expensive though got check.
