Title: alkali metals + water
Post by: enahs on January 14, 2007, 11:20:54 PM
The reaction of the alkali metals with water is very exothermic to form the metal hydroxide, and perhaps many of you have seen a demonstration of small amounts reacted with water. The "explosion" is produced because the reaction liberates hydrogen gas, and the there is enough energy to "ignite" the gas. Very fun to watch.

But I give you the good ole' US Army. I guarantee none of you did it like them  ;D

Good one. Jdurg and Theodore Grey attempts seem futile ;)
