Hi all,
What's meant by "cyclic Dimmer structure" of Carboxylic acids & why moleculer mass determination in non polar solvents like Benzene shows that Carboxylic Acid exists as cyclic dimmer?.Thanks.

Carboxylic acids form dimers in non-polar, aprotic solvents because of hydrogen bonding between the acid groups. The OH of the acid forms a hydrogen bond with the carbonyl oxygen of another acid and vice versa.
