I found a definition on web:

"A chemical bond with "sausage roll" shape formed by the sideways overlap of two d orbitals."

They are bonds involving d-orbitals. They are quite common for metals.

Is it only formed between metal atoms? How about a metal complex?

The complex would need d-orbitals
