Title: Reaction
Post by: vhpk on February 03, 2007, 06:27:20 AM
Why does the reaction happen itself when K > 1(K is equiribium constant)

It's kinetics. The reaction is favored.

Keq=[H][A]/[HA]
if Keq>1 [H][A] is favored and [HA] is decreasing.

Sometimes this means it favors the products and sometimes it favors the reactants. Depends on what K is measuring.
