Title: Why is aniline not a heterocyclic nitrogen compound?
Post by: Jill on April 07, 2004, 07:59:16 PM
Okay I have this question?  Why is Aniline not considered to be a heterocyclic nitrogen compound?

is this correct?

A compund containing an acyclic chain and a heterocyclic ring is considered as a heterocyclic compound....an aniline hydrochloride is classified as containing carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen only.

Edit: edited title for better indexing. Mitch

Because Aniline doesn't have it's Nitrogen in the ring.
