Title: (NH4)2S
Post by: vhpk on February 14, 2007, 04:19:45 AM
I want to ask that whether there is (NH4)2S in the solution and when we put the solution which consists of NH3 and H2S for a long time, what will we get. Thanks a lot

Protolysis reactions are very fast, so it is sufficient to introduce a gaseous H2S to ammonia water. Usually some excess of ammonia is used

Note that ammonia is a weak base and H2S is a weak acid, so the neutralization won't go far.
