Hi, we are doing oraganic chemistry.. do I have the following right?
CH3CH2CH2CH3   = Ethane or is it Pentane,,,alkane group
CH3CO=OCH2CH3   = Methyl Acetate
CH=chCH=CHCH=CH     Benzene
CH3C=OOH Ethyl Acetate  from ester group      Thanks for your help

1. for a straight chain, meth- (1C), eth- (2C), prop- (3C), but- (4C), pent- (5C)
2.  identify the acid and alcohol fragment
3. benzene is a ring. your structure is linear.
4. -COOH sounds familiar?
