I've tried several methods to make a sodium silicate solution, none so far have worked as well as what you can buy in radiator stop leak. I'm putting recycled glass
in a small ball mill, grinding it very fine and mixing with NaOH. Does this reaction require heat as well. confused

You could try mixing molten silicon dioxide and sodium carbonate.

What is the melting point of silcon dioxide?

Wiki is good for those kinds of things.

1650(±75) °C

Just don't quote wikipedia as source in any serious paper :)
