Title: one more q, benzo(a)pyrene
Post by: darmel on April 09, 2004, 03:26:18 PM
The carcinogenic metabolite of benzo(a)pyrene has 4 chiral centers.  One at carbons 7,8,9, and 10.  How many isomers and stereoisomers can be formed.  When I worked it, I got 4 isomers and 16 stereoisomers.  Is this correct?  The reaction occurs through covalent bonds.  What would the reaction be between the BaP metabolite and DNA?   ???
