Title: box of chemicals found
Post by: zazoo on May 14, 2007, 08:59:30 AM
Hi there.  We bought a new house and found a box of powder chemicals left in the garage. all the bottles have "various name labratories on them"
Any idea what all these may have been used for.
Lanthanum chloride, Lithium carbonate, Antimony trioxide, Bismuth oxychloride, Cupric sulphide, Ammonium bromide, Copper carbonate.
Just interested/ Thanks.

They seem to be a random cross section of research reagents. I doubt anybody was making illicit drugs with Lanthanum chloride if that was a fear.

Sounds like you stumbled across the home lab of a chemistry nerd.

If you're looking to dispose of them, make sure you contact you're local municipality and ask them if they'll take it.
