Title: 60-kD polypeptide... what does kD stand for?

I came across the following sentence while I was reading about primase. "Primase is a 60-kD polypeptide"... what does kD stand for? ::)

I guess that would be Kilo dalton's so 60kD is 60000 molecular weight.

Yup.  kD stands for kilodalton (in this context), although probably the more correct abbreviation is kDa.
