Today i did an extraction with cola syrup, i added ammonium hydroxide and methylene chloride but forgot to add water. I poured out the organic layer into an erlenmeyer flask and added sodium sulfate to it and removed then poured out the liquid into an round flask and boiled it to remove the methylene chloride. I then added salicyclic acid and methylene chloride and hexane and ended up with yellow crystals. Is this product okay to use even though i didn't add the water?
