Title: get rid of surfactant

Hi. Im currently working on gold nanoparticles, and Im using 17mM CTAC as my solvent. The synthesis looked good, but does anyone here know a way to get rid of the CTAC in the end? im thinking about centrifugation but someone told me it won't work and somehow i need to play around with the solubility.

What is the nature of the outer layer of your nanoparticles (mercaptododecanoic acid? mercaptobutylamine?)?  Sometimes centrifugation works, and if it doesn't, playing with the pH (depending on the functionality of your outer layer) helps.
