Can anyone suggest how to seperate cyclohexane+HMDO(Hexamethyldisilaxane) mixture?
Feed composition : Cyclohexane :81%
HMDO : 18%
Water : 1%

Desired purity: Cycloheaxne :>99.5%

Azeotrope methanol-cyclohexane contains 37 % of methanol and shows boiling point about 54 C. This azeotrope after distillation separates into two phases, the upper contains a large excess of cyclohexane. After rinsing this phase with water and distillation you probably obtain quite pure cyclohexane. Note, you can reuse lower layer for recycling
