Hello everybody. I would be grateful if you could give me some information about synthesis of BAIB (bisacetoxyiodobenzene, useful reagent for alcohol oxidation). I have been searching www but I couldn't find it. Thanks a lot for every help.

The WWW isn't the be all and end all you know.
Have you thought of trying a chemical abstracts search? I mean the old fashioned way looking throught the indexes for the empirical formula and getting references within? Ok, so you need a decent chemistry library.
I also use Beilstein Commander and Scifinder but unless your at Uni or within an organisation that may be out of reach too.
Whats your situation? Uni student or working in industry...

did you search under older names:
Diacetoxyiodobenzene
or Iodosobenzene diacetate

Thanks a lot for help. I am a research assistant working in a small institute in a field of biological chemistry. Because our institute is rather a biological company we have only access to biological publications so I am not able to look through abstracts and other chemical journals. Second, the lack of time doesn't allow me to go to chemical library and this is why I've chosen the easiest way to find what I want. Thanks. :)
