What's the IUPAC name for an ester that's formed when 2-Hydroxybenzoic acid (a carboxylic acid) and methanol (an alcohol) react with a catalyst? I can draw what the ester looks like, but I can't figure out how to name it. The best name I can think of is Methyl-2-Hydroxybenzoate. Is this name right?

Extremely close. Methyl 2-hydroxybenzoate is the correct name.
