Hi,

If an aqueous solution of copper(II) nitrate Cu(NO3)2(aq) is made from 4.758g of Cu(NO3)2.2.5H2O(s), will there also be 4.758g of copper(II) nitrate? Or do I use the equation Cu(NO3)2.2.5H2O(s) --> Cu(NO3)2(aq) + H2O

More like the second approach. Note that you are most likely interested in molar concentration - so you just calculate number of moles of Cu(NO3)2.2.5H2O(s) - taking water molecules into account when calculating salt molar mass.
