That's inductively coupled plasma. It is analysis by atomic emission spectroscopy (as opposed to atomic absorption).

The plasma torch is generated by exciting argon gas to plasma with a radiofrequency power source. Solution samples are aspirated through the flame to cause atomic emission of the components whose intensities can be analyzed.
