Title: synthesis of aspirin HELP
Post by: crazyro45 on February 20, 2005, 11:25:09 PM
ok i tried to calculate the synthesis of aspirin but im completely lost on this lab question i tried to use this equation

mass(g)salycicacid(1molsalycicacid/138gsalycicacid)(1molacatylsalylicacid/1molsalycicacid(180gacetylsalycicacid/1molacetylsalicicacid)

but now i have to calaculate how many millimoles of each of the following
  salycic acid
   acetic anyhydride
and  sulfuric acid (1 drop =.05 mL)
and what is the limiting reagant

are in the reaction using 1.636 grams of salycic acid
