Title: What are the products if sodium bicarbonate and diluted acetic acid?
Post by: zzz123 on January 13, 2008, 12:38:31 AM
I am doing a science fair project with carbon dioxide.  To make the carbon dioxide I used vinegar and baking soda and I was wondering if there were any other products in addition to the carbon dioxide.

CH3–COOH + Na+[HCO3]– → CH3–COO– Na+ + H2O + CO2

If you dry this you actually synthesize sodium acetate...common General Chemisry experiment.
