You have 200gallons of a solution containing 1ppm of NaOH and 200ppm of NaHSO3. This solution is then poured into 1 ton of H2O. Assuming steady state, what is the concentration of NaOH and NaHSO3 expected to be in the 1 ton solution?
Can you please show all the steps to answering this question.
Thank you

Wow. Hope you're up on your scientific notation skills, because those are going to be some seriously small numbers. What's the class, Homeopathy 101? :D

I wonder what they mean by "NaOH and NaHSO3" concentration... What about dissociation? Neutralization?

I believe the question is asking how much sodium hydroxide and how much sodium bisulfite is expected to be found in the 1 ton solution of water. It's a very small quantity but how is it calculated?

Well, for starters, you'll want to show a balanced chemical equation.
