can benzoic acid act as antioxidant?

I know it cab act as preservitives, and I want to ask what is its mechanism?

i think it cannot because perbenzoic acid is less stable than benzoic acid
benzoic acid is not oxygen loving
plus it is oxidation product itself from benzaldehyde so it is the last state for oxidaton
may be benzaldehyde is that more as antioxidant than benzoic acid
