Hi, Can you help me about formula of electroless nickel plating, I am a student and also working in a company about plating chemicals. I am so new and I trying to search to learn...

The general concept is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plated#Electroless_plating You probably want more specific information than that, but you are not likely to get it. Such information is proprietary, and the companies will not release it. Yes, maybe if you browse the patent, you'll find more info, but even that is just as muddled as the article above. Yes, the MSDS or the side of the bottle will list the chemicals used, and you might be able to piece it together. But no one's going to spell it all out for you online.
Here's a game you can try, you say you work for a plating company, ask your boss and supervisors, how a plating bath works, tell them you want to know the specifics of your company's procedure, so that you can post it online to help others understand. And tell us what they say. I'm sure it'll be real interesting.

I tried it but I think there is some missings, as stabiliser and conditioner in which a formula includes.
The formula is 2-4 gr /lt stabiliser
2-4 gr /lt conditioner
30-50 mg wetter and as you mentioned the three chemicals above there.
But the problem is that what is the stabiliser and conditioner and wetter. :-\

The only additive that you may need is the stabilizer which keeps the nickel from spontaneously reducing. Some baths need it, some you can get by without.

Hi Eprigge, ::) I read the document which was very good. but I am confused about stabilizer, which of can I use Pb or thiourea? I am not sure because I will use abs ( plastic ) to plate with electroless nickel.

Hi,
My name is marius and I am looking from a long time for a nickel plating solution. I am making some fishing lures from copper and I realy need to to plate them with nickel and silver. I got a nickel plating solution from a friend, but it is not for electroplating , it applies with friction. Here is the solution.
30 parts nickel sulfate
10 parts ammonium sulfate
20 parts choline (not 100% sure , in romanian it is called "caolina" but it must be )
5 parts talc
And the recipe sais: that all the substances are mixed with some small amount of water until they become something like a pasta and then we ad some boric acid and you put the pasta with friction on the copper lure . Mabe you can try this recipe dionl and give us some results.
