Title: molar concentration
Post by: dayne_lo on April 13, 2008, 09:30:38 AM
how can i solve the molar concentration if theres no volume? just like this "Oxalic acid,H2C2O4 occurs as the potassium or calcium salts of many plants, including rhubarb and spinach. An aqueous solution of oxalic acid is 0.585 mole/kg H2C2O4. the density of the solution is 1.022 g/ml. what is the molar concentration?

thanks

OK you have the density right? it is mass/volume, you have the mass also, because you can calculate the molar mass of the substance and from the equation n=m/M to find out the mass.
The rest is simple math.

Try it, if you fail write back and we will help you
