Title: completing the equations
Post by: mnuslt on March 28, 2005, 05:01:02 PM
Ag + H2O=?
Ag + HCl=?
Ag + Au(NO3)3=?

How do you complete and balance? What is the secret formula to know if it is a reaction or not?

I tried to do these myself, but I do not know if they are right or not?
Fe + CuSO4=Cu + FeSO4
Cu + FeSO4=Fe + CuSO4
Cu + AgNO3=Ag + Cu(NO3)

Remember... S with S = NR unless heat added or removed
S with L or G = R or NR depending on molecular mixture and heat
G with G always = a R (as long as not the same gas)
L with L always = a R (as long as not the same liquid)
