Hello,
If something says:
"Low aromatic solvent 160/190°C"
Do the temperatures refer to the boiling point?
Thank you.
-
I would assume so...
Maybe melting and boiling? Although, those are pretty close. Is that all the description says? What is the context you saw this description in?

Hello,
It is in a formulation for a polymer sealant on the Dow Corning website.
http://www.dowcorning.com/content/publishedlit/26-1054A-01.pdf
I then went on to the Exxon site and found these
http://www.exxonmobilchemical.com/Public_Products/Fluids/Aliphatics/AsiaPacific/Grades_and_Datasheets/Fluids_Aliphatics_ExxsolSBP_Grades.asp
Exxon is listed as a supplier of this ingredient on the Dow Corning site.

From that second website, it appears that they are specifying the distillation range of the exxon chemical you need. So, 160/190 would be Exxsol D40, the 200/250 would be the Exxsol D80.
