Title: Hall process

quick question

in the Hall process, is CO2 or O2 produced at the anode? wikipedia says CO2 but Britanica encyclopedia says Oxygen, so which one is it, or is it both??

also I need to more information about the photofluorescent effect, I googled and wikied and didn't find any relevant info can someone help please

Formally O2 is formed. But since temperature is about 1000 C and graphite electrode is used, carbon reacts with oxygen to form mainly carbon monooxide (CO).
