G'Day, concerning the effects KMnO4 and AgNO3, is there a word that fits the following definition? (I'm a word person ;))

Mystery Word: A substance that stains or is capable of staining the skin.

Both decompose on skin (AgNO3 needs light)
MnO2 is brown, silver is black.

I would imagine some word relating to "dye", no?

colorant, coloring, dyestuff, pigment, stain, tincture

The closest thing that comes to my mind is mordant. But that is not quite right though.
