why would an experiment need to be under and inert gas if the reaction during the experiment is not air sensitive?
-
Is it not air sensitive, how?
Are we talking not O2 sensitive?
What about the water vapor in the air?
Maybe in the presence of air a side reaction occurs?
Possibly the reaction is not air sensitive (O2, H2O sensitive) but maybe the products are?
