Title: Is Isopropyl Alcohol Reusable for disinfection/sterilization?
Post by: Reductase on October 28, 2008, 08:54:26 PM
As per the topic really.

Whats the shelf life of Isopropyl Alcohol when used for disinfection/sterilization?

I write "disinfection" only because I think an auto clave is the only way to technically achieve sterilization.

I'm using the Isopropyl Alcohol for sterilization by submerging glassware in it for 24h then using dry heat as a final step.

Am I able to reuse the Isopropyl Alcohol or do I toss it?

TY.

id say toss it. unless your really stingy, then you could probably boil the fluid, and collect the vapors then reuse that, since any s#*$ you sterilized would not vaporize. but im not sure
