Title: What is the molarity of 48% HBr?
Post by: Perdesi on November 02, 2008, 11:48:23 PM
I needed to find out the molarity of HBr solution.
The bottle is marked as 48 % HBr.
Mol. wt: 80.92
density: 1.49
I am assuming it is W/V:
Here is my calculation,

%/mol.wt/V=M
48/80.92 = 0.593 moles
0.593/100 =5.93M

Please help me if I am doing wrong...
Thanking all of you in advance

What is weight of 1 liter of 48% HBr. How many grams of HBr is in 1 liter of 48% HBr. How many moles?
Or in your calculation multiply 0.593 by 14.9
