Post by: SimonPo on November 11, 2008, 05:44:11 AM
Hello everyone
I have a question about the bactericide choose, since I am a student and want to make a project about simulate the human body, after I search the internet, there have such material I need to find, water, NaCl, sugar, DGBE, HEC and bactericide, so I inquiry the vendor to get above require material, but I check many web site is say that the bactericide they will use "Dowicil 75" to do, but the vendor haven't this product, but they have the "Kathon CG" this material and they say are same biocide.
I am so confuse about this, is these 2 bactericide actually same source? or can use in same way?

Thanks

If you'd been less lazy and used Google you'd have easily found that

Dowicil is a Dow trademark
http://www.dow.com/biocides/prod/dwcil75.htm

Kathlon is a Rohm & Hass trademark
http://www.rhpersonalcare.com/pdf/KathonCG.pdf

Who ever told you they were the same chemical is an idiot but they maybe similar enough in your application to be interchangeable.
