Title: chemistry vs love???
Post by: iam_psyche on December 08, 2008, 12:16:36 PM
in Chemistry.... opposites attract!
and like dissolves like...

how about in love??does the same principle holds true??

and how can you say you're in love?? ::)

sometimes it's more complicated than solving and answering chem questions....

When rules and social conventions don't matter, and you want to be with that person no matter what.

does that really apply?

so "you and me against the world" really happens?

i still don't believe in love
that it conquers all..

it's just like studying chemistry, you'll never know it exist...
unless you've seen or you've experienced it....

i believe in love! It definitely exist. However, i don't believe in forever love  :(, just like chemistry and other science subjects where there might be a chance the current theories don't last forever.

i agree that nothing lasts forever... well except change..

that's why i don't really know if i should believe in love...
i think it will only cause disappointments when your expectations are not meet...

hmmn... just like chemistry... if the theories and laws don't apply anymore...
it will definitely cause problems..

It was a play on his spelling, as he said "loose", as in, your pants are not fitting well.

Like dissolves like? And, you know, some gasses are happy being diatomic, if y'know what I mean.
I am known for using chemistry as metaphors for human behavior, including love. but, in the end, chemistry is predictable (within reason) and love is not.
I consider myself a scientist, and as such, I've never been comfortable with things that can't be proven experimentally. That's what makes it all teh more meaningful when I can find it in me to say "I love you," and the ones closest to me know that.

I love experimental part of love.

Ooh, I didn't think of that. Touche.
Also, that would've been 10X better if I could've heard your tone of voice there as well. XD

Chemistry is like love? Maybe in the sense that if you mix the right things the result can be quite elegant and beautiful, but at the same time if you mix the wrong things it can blow your arm off.

I like myself so much that I look for my own qualities in other people.  ;)
In light of that, I think dissolving my similar other half would be more romantic than horrible. Kinda like saying, "I dig you so much I want to make you a part of me" amirite?

...amirite?

Then it's time to reevaluate the schooling system and who they allow to become white-jacket-wearers.
But don't let them do that until I actually get mine.

Thanks in advance.

I think it's like a chemical reaction....I mean, think about it. You discover a girl (element) and your test out different ways of hitting on her (solvents) but you're dealing with a mean girl (corrosive chemical) and she breaks your heart (injures you).  ;D Just my idea  ;)
