I took a test today...

If the problem asked me to find the heat capacity of the calorimeter, it was essentially a bomb calorimeter problem, right? (plus it said that the mass was burned so..)

So I would have to set up

qreaction = -(qwater + qcalorimeter)

they gave me the total heat reaction in kj/mol and the mass of the object (so if it was like .2 mol then just convert to .2 mol x (xxxkJ/1mol))

Right..?? ???

this is one of those problems where i was either correct or incorrect. :-\

Yes, you are right as long as you did scale up Qreaction[/b] from kJ/mol to kJ.
