Sulfur, S8, combines with oxygen at elevated temperatures to form sulfur dioxide. If 312 oxygen molecules are used up in this reaction, how many sulfur molecules reacted?
How do i know what the formula is?

Do you know the formula for carbon dioxide?
-
CO2
so would it be SO2 and if there is 312 oxygen 156 Sulfur?
-
ok so i wrote out the formula and balanced it
S8+8O2-->8SO2
i got 39 for the previous answer and it was right!
thanks for the help =]
